Hello,

I have my exam in less than 3 weeks. I am currently struggling with RC, which is affecting my score a lot. I tried multiple approaches but none working good for me. My accuracy in RC is around 40 - 60%. I recently started working on Aristotle RC's and my accuracy in these RC's is around 30%. I feel Aristotle RC topics are vague and questions are much more difficult than those of OG. The problem for me with OG is that I am a re-taker and I read the OG passages before. So most of these topics are familiar to me. I think working on Aristotle RC's is not helping with my overall confidence level. Can someone suggest be an approach to crack RC in the next few weeks.

Hi c23678,

What have your overall scores been on your last couple of practice CATs? And what is your scoring goal? You've identified RC as a "problem area", but it might not be the only problem.

Hi Rich,

Thanks for the reply. I am scoring between 650 and 700. My target score is 720. I am consistently able to score between 48-50 in quans. In verbal SC accuracy is 80%, CR is 70% and RC is around 30-50%.

I would suggest that please take a look into the videos that brent has suggested they are very good.

Now about Aristotle RC, they are actually difficulty but very good source for practice. If you feel not so great about RC, you can follow this strategy. It may or may not work for you -

1. read the first 2 line of passage very slowly and careful
2. now predict about the passage in general and see if your prediction is correct or not. This will help you indulge into passage more deeply.
3. don't forget to take note. Your notes should contain only gist of the passage, nothing more.
4. always bring up with the title for the passage.
