Teaching is without a doubt the best way to learn a subject. The retention rate is higher than any other method and understanding of the material reaches new limits. This has been shown in statistics and in numerous books, such as Steven Covey's The 8th Habit.

I haven't started studying yet, so don't know which grade corresponds with the material, but what do you think the best grade would be to teach? Would it be 8th grade algebra and 9th grade geometry?

I am thinking that it would be highly beneficial to apply for part time volunteer tutoring positions teaching 8th/9th graders. I could strengthen the volunteer portion of my application, help the little guys with math, and gain an new knowlege of the material.

Also, is there a grade in school that relates to the verbal material? I think I am a little bit weaker in my verbal than my math; maybe becoming a tutor in both subjects would be optimal.
