Guys,I purchased the new PR 1012 and came across this concept of standard deviation.I wanted to know if this is tested on the GMAT cos I have'nt come across sums using this concept before.However,the sums in the book are largely based on this.

The mean test score in a class is 65. If the scores have a standard deviation of 6, which of the following is between 1 and 2 standard deviations from the mean?

a) 51
b) 55
c) 60
d) 68
e) 79

I have never seen a GMAT SD question that required knowledge of that graph.

Here's an example of what's currently the most common style of SD question on the GMAT:
