Hi, can someone please help me with converting some word phrases into algebra equations using x and y?

1) x is 50% of y

2) x is 50% increase of y

3) x increase of y is 50%

4) there are twice as much x as y

thanks!

1) x is 50% of y

-->x=(50*y)/100

2) x is 50% increase of y

--->x= y+ 50y/100

3) x increase of y is 50%

-->(x-y)*100 = 50% ---> slightly confused on this.Wish some expert can give opinion on this.

4) there are twice as much x as y

---> x=2y

thanks!
