a) a human is able to use to take care of one's

when to use 'one', 'oneself' and 'themselves'?
Themselves and itself are used to indicate the subject acts upon itself.

Oneself is used to indicate the proper reflexive of "One".If one is used instead of person, then oneself can be used.

Option E is correct.

Yes I am also confused with option D.

But this option seems to be simple and better.

Here is my reason.Hitler or his policies, hitler is main reason for the action. Then D is correct.

why I selected option E is it match with the correct meaning.

I am confused between option d and e
Should be E.
D would mean Hitler caused, however the intended meaning of the sentence is Hitler's policies caused the slaughter...

a) a human is able to use to take care of one's
b) that a human is able to use to take care of oneself in
c) a human is able to use to take care of oneself in
d) humans are able to use to take care of them in
e) humans are able to use to take care of themselves in

when to use 'one', 'oneself' and 'themselves'?
The question is most similar to this famous gmat question:

575. Pensions are now viewed as a deferred payment of salary, money a worker is compelled to put away to take care of one's later years.
(A) a worker is compelled to put away to take care of one's
(B) that a worker is compelled to put away to take care of oneself in
(C) a worker is compelled to put away to take care of oneself in
(D) workers are compelled to put away to take care of them in
(E) workers are compelled to put away to take care of themselves in

As in this case too, the logic remains same and answer is E.
monusangeeta wrote: 3. An attempt to elect a woman as a president of the United states, begun 15 years ago, had had no success despite the willingness of the Democratic party to back a female candidate.

a) to elect a woman as a president of the United states, begun 15 years ago
b) begun 15 years ago, to elect a woman as a president of the United states
c) begun for electing a woman as a president of the United states 15 years ago
d) at electing a woman as a president of the United states, begun 15 years ago
e) that has begun 15 years ago to elect a woman as a president of the United states

I am confused between option a) and b)
IDIOM: In an Attempt to
Only option A does that.
monusangeeta wrote: 4. Not until Hammurabi's code was enacted, had a government granted the right to its citizens that they could be aware of their laws.

a) had a government granted the right to its citizens that they could be aware
b) did a government grant the right to its citizens that they could be aware
c) had the government granted the right to its citizens for the awareness
d) did a government grant the right to its citizens to be aware
e) had a government granted that its citizens had a right that they could be aware
had vs did: Think is there any reason to go for 'had', which is used to convey sequence between 2 past actions and which is used for more past activity. In the scenario, more past activity is "Hammurabi's code was enacted"

Now between b and d: "that they could be aware" vs "to be aware". Quite clear former is awkward and wordy.
monusangeeta wrote: 5. During the internet boom in the 1990's, even a relatively small move in the tech market fooled many investors having bought on rumor, they had to sell, and the dumping of stock quickly revealed how over valued many of the companies were.

a) investors having bought on rumor, they had to sell, and
b) investors who had bought on rumor, having had to sell,
c) investors who had bought on rumor; they had to sell, and
d) investors, those who had bought on rumor; these investors had to sell, and
e) investors, who, having bought on rumor and having to sell,

correct use of 'having'
[/u]
C: One can clearly narrow down that Answer is between C and D i.e. "these investors" vs 'they' : Quite clear they has only one referent and hence will go with concise structure.

By default: Comma + VerbING always modifies the subject of the previous clause.
Without Comma + VerbING always modifies the nearest subject.

Hope that helps
