Some book advises for strategies

Hello at all.

I am starting to prepare myself for the GMAT. So far, I am considering to buy:
- https://www.amazon.com/Official-Guide-GM ... 313&sr=8-1 The Official Guide
- https://www.amazon.com/Official-Guide-GM ... pd_sim_b_1 The Official Quant Review
- https://www.amazon.com/Official-Guide-GM ... pd_sim_b_1 The Official Verbal Review

What I could not find out so far is, how they cover the general topics of "how to solve questions". I often see some questions and I just don't know how to solve them, or how to solve them most efficiently. That means, I need some kind of strategies, tips&tricks for exercises. (<- for both: the Quant and the Verbal section).

Do you have any suggestions? Is there a good book outside with a high value for the price ratio?

I would appreciate some answers :)

Regards,
mott

The OG books are great for practice but skimpy on the explanations. Personally, I suggest going with Manhattan GMAT books (others will likely agree). They aren't too expensive and have been quite helpful for the most part.

Thank you for your post. The Manhattan GMAT package consists of books to every topic. I have to say, that this is a bit above my financial possibilities. So far I cannot point a special topic in which I have a weakness, so that I could only buy me a special book of the MGMAT series.

But nevertheless I really appreciate your answer.

Is there a more general strategy book, which covers all topics and is affordable?

Best regards,
