Solve this Question Absolute value

x<0 then then (-x|x|) .................this expression is all in ]square root dont know how to make it on my computer
but the answer is -x ....how can that be i got in the GMAT prep software

rephrasing the q if x<0 then what is v(-xlxl)

if x<0---->x is a -ve number so put x=-x in the expression
v(-xlxl)=v(-(-x)l-xl)=v(x*x)=+ or - x =-x (becoz x<0)
