skip AWAs?

by 700goal » Sun Dec 07, 2008 11:39 am
I have taken the GMAT scored a 6.0 on the AWA, I was wondering if I take the exam again if I could just skip the AWA sections or if this would look bad

I would definitely not skip the AWA. If you had skills to get 6.0 from the previous one, you shouldn't have a problem.

If you had low grade on your AWA and 750 on your GMAT, would you write your essay but skip the GMAT?

not a good idea. You know most schools don't give much weight on AWA. Therefore in most cases 4+ is good enough. Since you hit 6 at your first try you'll be sure to hit 4+ again without much practice.

I don't think GMAT allows one to skip AWA's on a retake.
