96=8*3*4
96^2=8^2 * 3^2 * 4^2
after simplification only 3 is left out

(8^2)(3^3)(4^2)/96^2

(8^2)(3^2)(4^2)*3/(96)^2

(8*3*4)^2*3/(96)^2=(96)^2*3/(96)^2=3
