Hi, there. I'm happy to help with this:

17/(17^2 + 34) = 17/[17*17 + 17*2] = 17/[17*(17 + 2)] = 17/[17*19] = 1/19

Does that make sense? Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for such a fast reply. I feel really silly for not getting this. Maybe if take a break and review later it will make sense.

I just having a hard time seeing going from 17 * 17 + 17 * 2 to 17(17 + 2).

I got it now 17(17 + 2) is 17 squared plus 34... so simple I couldn't even see it.
