is there a way to add inequalities and figure this out faster.
I went with b because y is the unknown that's affected by sign changes, so since in statement 2 we know what the exact sign of y is, it is sufficient. But with statement one you have
8-y>10 --> is 8-y>8+y? doesn't this again depend on the sign y is? please advise. thx
