Should I take the GMAT Next Saturday

Hey Guys,

So I am currently attending Vertias GMAT prep, and I have a scheduled GMAT test on Dec 19th. So far, I have not been able to score above a 440 :(

I think I need to absorb a lot of the material. Some have told me to take the GMAT regardless. Is it wise to do so since my score is really low?

Do schools care if you if you score really bad on one your test attempts?

If you do not feel ready to take the GMAT, then the answer is that you shouldn't take the GMAT. I'm not sure what your target score is, but I'm assuming that 440 is below what you're trying to achieve.

Unless you are applying for schools this winter, then I don't think there is much harm in delaying your test--except of course for losing $250. However, losing this money may be worth it if you can spend some additional time getting prepared.

I agree with Eric, don't take it if you are not ready.
However, if this is your very first try, you could take it to experience the settings - if you have spent $250 already and cannot get a refund. I knew I was not prepared when I first wrote it, but went ahead regardless to get the feeling of it. Now I am going to give myself another 2-3 months and then go ahead. Having 1 bad score won't hurt you as the admissions committee might think that you were sick that day or something else happened.
