Hang in there, buddy! Don't be so hard on yourself. Sure, it sounds like there is room for improvement. At this stage, you may be better off shifting focus back to the GMAT and really committing to nailing that higher score. Put a plan together with milestones between now and the next application cycle and get to work. Now, that said, a 590 GMAT isn't guaranteed to rule you out of contention - it really depends on how spectacular other aspects of your application are. But it doesn't put you in a great position either and I think you know that. All things considered, I think waiting, refocusing, and applying next year makes a lot more sense when it comes time to cranking through the application.
Hope this helps!
