Shoppers in sporting goods stores, unlike in department stores, do very little impulse shopping, not buying a pair of skis and a boomerang when they come in for a basketball, but they leave with a basketball only.

Hello!

There are a couple problems with answer B:

1. In the beginning of the sentence, it's important to use parallel structure when talking about shoppers. Adding in "those who shop in department stores" makes sure the emphasis is on the people shopping, not the stores.

2. The phrase "shop impulsively very little" should be changed to "shop impulsively very seldom" because it is modifying a verb that refers to how often someone shops, not the amount they buy. If you switch it around, like in the correct answer D, it is okay to say "very little impulse shopping" it's modifying impulse shopping as a noun, and that's fine.
