Is the range of a combined set of set(S,T) bigger than the sum of ranges of sets T and S ?

The largest element of T is bigger than the largest element of S .
The smallest element of T is bigger than the largest element of S .

Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but Statement (2) ALONE is not sufficient
Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but Statement (1) ALONE is not sufficient
BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient
EACH statement ALONE is sufficient
Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient

Ans is B.

i am not able to understand how cum ans is B

IMO B
the range depends upon the smallest and the largest element
1) we need to know the about the smallest numbers in both the sets
ex:{1,100},{400,500}
combined range is bigger than the sum
{1,100},{1,500}
combined range is not bigger than the sum
NOT SUFF

2)very clear the the smallest and the largest elements in set T are both bigger than the largest number in set S

SUFF
The powers of two are bloody impolite!!
