Although many video games are situated in fantasy worlds quite unlike our own, others feature human characters that embark on careers, get married, have their own children, just as real people do.

1 - that embark on careers, get married, have their own children, just as real people do
2 - who embark on careers, just like real people, to get married and have children of their own
3 - who, just like real people, begin to embark on careers; they also get married, having children of their own
4 - who embark on careers, just like real people getting married, and have children of their own
5 - who, just like real people, embark on careers, get married, and have children of their own

The answer is E

1 - that embark on careers, get married, have their own children, just as real people do - There are 2 things that stick out to me - humans being qualified by that and have their own children - being the only one that is qualified by just as real people do,

2 - who embark on careers, just like real people, to get married and have children of their own - If you remove the modifier just like real people - the cause and effect seems nonsensical. embark on careers to get married.

3 - who, just like real people, begin to embark on careers; they also get married, having children of their own - Changes the meaning by introducing begin

4 - who embark on careers, just like real people getting married, and have children of their own - The modifier just like real people getting married seems nonsensical

5 - who, just like real people, embark on careers, get married, and have children of their own - Perfect

In A, a conjunction is needed before the last entry in the list: embark on careers, get married, AND have their own children.
Eliminate A.

In B, who embark on careers TO GET MARRIED AND HAVE CHILDREN implies that the PURPOSE of these careers is TO GET MARRIED AND HAVE CHILDREN.
Not the intended meaning.
Eliminate B.

In C, begin to embark is redundant. To embark means to COMMENCE.
Eliminate C.

D implies that the CHARACTERS WHO EMBARK ON CAREERS are like REAL PEOPLE GETTING MARRIED.
Not the intended meaning.
In the original sentence, it is clear that the fantasy characters perform BOTH actions: they embark on careers AND get married.
Eliminate D.

The correct answer is E.

"that" in this sentence will create ambiguity . Who best describes the humans .
