by suneet » Tue May 15, 2007 10:06 am
Hi Guys,

6. In traveling from a dormitory to a certain city, a student went of the way by foot, of the way by bus, and the remaining 8 kilometers by car. What is the distance, in kilometers, from the dormitory to the city?
(A) 30
(B) 45
(C) 60
(D) 90
(E) 120

I feel some data is missing here. Please suggest.

Regards
Suneet

I think you are right. We need some fractions expressing the proportion of the trip spent on foot and on the bus so that we could get the proportion of the entire trip that the 8 km by car represents.

Not sure about the ps.zip you refer to. I did my quant review from the Princeton Review and Kaplan books along with the Official Guide 11. Also browsed these forms to get some of the real tough problems.
