Guys need help -
10. A square playground has the same area as a rectangular playground that is 30 meters longer but 20 meters narrower. What is the length, in meters, of a side of the square playground?
(A) 10sqrt(5)
(B) 10sqrt(6)
(C) 25
(D) 50
(E) 60

Really I am not getting the meaning of the Qs - what this Qs wants to say?
OA after some discussions.
Correct me If I am wrong

Even I am a bit consfused about the word "narrower" but anyways lets see if my logic is right

Lets say 30 and 20 is the length and the breadth of the rectangle then the area of the rectangle would be 30*20=600

According to the question the area of the square is equal to the area of the rectangle and so Area of the square s^2=600 where s is the side of the square.

s^2=600 so s=sqrt(600)=24.49

This means that the side of the square playground measures 24.49 which is nothing but 10sqrt(6).

So is the answer B??

s^2 = (s+30)(s-20)

s^2 = S^2 +10s - 600

10s = 600

s=60

E

Thanks Samir! Yop OA is E. But again a misunderstanding -
that is 30 meters longer but 20 meters narrower.
I at all missed that particular word - LONGER and NARROWER. God help me, pls! Why do I do this kind of mistake, yeer!
