Pls answer the question -
On a scale that measures the intensity of a certain phenomenon, a reading of n + 1 corresponds to an intensity that is 10 times the intensity corresponding to a reading of n. On that scale, the intensity corresponding to a reading of 8 is how many times as great as the intensity corresponding to a reading of 3 ?
(A) 5 (B) 50 (C)
(D) (E)
Please tell me the approach also ...

Options C, D and E are missing in your question.

However, this is how I solved it

suppose intensity of reading 3 = x

so, intensity of reading 4 = 10x

for 5 = 100x
for 6 = 1000x
for 7 = 10000x
for 8 = 100000x

intensity of reading 8 is 100000 times greater.

Thank u, Kajcha! Ohhh I dnt know how I missed to provide the three options - C,D and E. However, C - 10^5 D - 5^10 E - 8^10 - 3^10. Thanks once again, Kajcha.
