Only studying for two weeks and then taking the test is not the most efficient use of your time. I recommend you create a 2-3 month study plan and stick with it. T...

Have you used the MGMAT test analysis tool? Quant is my weakest area, but I've found MGMAT's reports to be very helpful in pinpointing my specific areas in need of improvement and in analyzing my time management issues.

Are you planning to apply for fall 2013 or matriculate in fall 2013? If you're not planning to apply until that time, then you have over a year to retake the exam. If you are planning to apply this year, then you should aim for a retake in time for the Round 2 deadlines of the schools you're interes...

I think you should take a practice test under timed conditions now. Since you've already started studying and under the types of questions asked, now is the time to get an idea of your baseline score. From there, you'll know how much you need to improve to reach your target score, and whether a tuto...

Congrats! What do you think helped most to get your super-high verbal score? I'm significantly stronger in verbal than quant, so I haven't yet devoted much time to verbal. However, with only a few weeks left before my test, I'm now hoping to bring up my verbal score to boost my overall score. I scor...

This is what the rest of the link says: Why are scores being recalibrated? We periodically recalibrate to have our CAT scores correspond to actual GMAT scores as closely as possible. In addition, the percentiles in our system now match the latest percentiles published by GMAC (earlier this month). T...

Thanks for the reply.

I was thinking that the 4 needed to be distributed. But the question involves multiplication, not addition, so I ended up pulling the 4 out twice.

Fantastic score.

I especially appreciate your comment that the GMAT is about confidence and strategy. People may attention to the strategy part, but having the confidence in your performance seems to be an important factor that is often overlooked.

Algebra Problem

I understand the answer explanation for this problem, but I don't understand why my method is wrong and why I got a different answer. Solve: sqrt[(16)(20) + (8)(32)] To solve, I pulled out the greatest common factor, 4. = sqrt[4((4*5) + (2*8))] = 2 * sqrt (20+16) = 2 * sqrt (36) = 2 * 6 = 12 Why is ...
