Exponents - Does this make sense?

So I'm not crazy that this looks fishy...thanks Stu.

let X = 2exp12.

When I simplify I get

1/x + 1/x + 3/4(x) + 4/8(x)

13/4(x)

I'm tossing this test...

Exponents - Does this make sense?

The OA is A. It says: If we express the numerators as powers of 2, then we would get 1/(2exp12) + 2/(2exp13)+ 4/(2exp14) + 8/(2exp15) however I keep getting 1/(2exp12) + (2/2)/(2exp12)+ (3/4)/(2exp12) + (4/8)/(2exp12) but the OA goes on to say that their simplification reduces to 1/(2exp12) + 1/(2ex...

Exponents - Does this make sense?

I got this question off a online practice test, but it looks fishy... 1/(2exp12) + 2/(2exp13) + 3/(2exp14) + 4/(2exp15) = ? a) 1/(2exp10) b) 1/(2exp12) c) 15/(2exp15) d) 2/(2exp10) e) 23/(2exp16) ** exp = ^ and the above are the fraction 1/2 , with denominator raised to different powers I know how t...

Probability - 100 numbered balls

The OA is 1/2. Everyone has the right idea. We know that the probability of even or odd is 1/2. Here is the approach I took: Here are the possible outcomes for the balls: E+E+E = Even E+E+O = Odd E+O+O = Even E+O+E = Odd O+E+E = Odd O+E+O = Even O+O+E = Even O+O+O = Odd The OA is 1/2. Since the orde...

More insight

Depending on how fast your math skills are I did this problem similarly and found some numbers that can decrease some of the calculations shown. 2L of 16% - this is 1/4 of the solution 6L of 20% - this is 3/4 of the solution (1/4)(16) + (3/4)(20) * these numbers are easily reduced .04 + .15 = .19 Th...

sudhir3127 wrote:My Answer is 5.

m+ n = Z+4
n = e + y

m + n = z + 4 + e + y
4 + y = -5
y = -9

e + z = 10

m + n = y + (e + z) + 4

m + n = -9 + (10) + 4

m + n = 5

Hope this is clear

Sudhir can you tell me how you got the bolded part?

I think a good way to look at this problem is the following. part/whole = percentage (everyone knows this) We can see that Maxim will be our variable. PART 3 Quarts Minum + Maxim 3(.005) + 0.20X Whole How many quarts of Maxim added to 3 quarts Minum X + 3 part/whole = .15 3(.005) + 0.20X ___________...
