Score Target for Ross FT MBA

by shashankv » Mon Jul 11, 2011 1:29 am
Hi

I am targeting the 2012 intake for ROSS , I have a 2 years work experience in a IT company. What I wanted to know is ideal target score for Ross based on my profile. From my research on the school, i found that the 80\20 range of the school is 660 to 710 with an average of 704. What should be my ideal score based on my profile.

My profile is

Good Academic Background with above 80%.

Working for a reputable international Consultancy with good referals from managers (Worked hard for it  )

Working with an NGO during the weekends in the NGO's activities.

Active member during college fests and activities.

Hi,

Ross Stats are
GMAT range (10th-90th percentile) 650-750
Average GMAT score 704

But most importantly,
Average work experience (months) 62

So with 24 months work ex, you need to have a really strong profile and a really good GMAT.

Which company are you working for?
Vineesh,
Just telling you what I know and think. I am not the expert. :)

I mean your target score should be at the higher end of the middle 80% range. Anywhere above the average that should be good.
My goal is to make MBA applicants take onus over their process.

Hey Money9111,

I have a 650 on my GMAT, 4+years of work-ex in IT, decent acads in the range of 70-80% and have been involved with a couple of Social Service initiatives. What chance does a profile like this stand for a Ross MBA?

Ali.

Hey shashankv and Aalriy,
Good questions, but really to give a fuller profile eval. more info is needed.
- Do you manage? hwo many people? what's the max you manage?
- Any other leadership? i.e. in religious, community, volunteer, military life?
- Any entrepreneurial ventures? (even failed ones)?
- Any professional or semi-pro sports activities?
- How many promotions have you gotten in how much time?

and several other things, but these are good starters. Applying to b-school is a lot more than just having xxx months of work and yyy GMAT. All of these elements come together and play off one another. So, if you have a 10 million dollar startup, you have more flexibility in your GMAT than if you are a project leader in a tech company.

Hope this helps!!!!!!
