Hi Rohit

If I were you, I would sign-up with a test preparation company since time is limited and goal is highly ambitious!

Hi RohitSharma,

A Test Date at the end of August gives you 3 months of study time, which is the amount of time that I recommend to most Test Takers. You're going to have to do a lot of work, learn to view this Test in a different way and put together a strong, organized performance on Test Day, but what your goal is doable.

As part of this process, you're probably going to need to invest in a GMAT Course (either live or self-study) and you have to be ready to learn (and practice) new tactics.

Did you have any pacing problems with this first CAT? Did you have to guess on a bunch of questions at the end of the section? Did you run out of time and NOT answer any of the questions?

Thanks Varun and Rich

Yes I took time and also guess many questions at the end without reading in Verbal because of time constraints.I am poor at Verbal section.I need to focus more on it.I will start practicing RC then CR.

Thanks!!!

Hi RohitSharma,

A pacing problem in either section can have a significant negative effect on your score. Before you worry too much about pacing though, you have to get comfortable with the material and learn the necessary tactics to answer questions in the most efficient ways possible. Speed/pacing normally improves with time, so this first part of your studies should be about becoming familiar with Test itself.

You say that you're going to start with RC and CR, which is a good place to begin. However, I want to reiterate that your specific goal (to improve by 300 points, give or take) is one that's difficult to accomplish on your own. You will likely need to invest in a GMAT Course and begin using that Course as soon as possible. There are many options to choose from, so I'd suggest that you take a look at the various free materials that each Company offers, sample the options, then pick the one that best matches your personality and budget.
