A. believe that the great white shark has evolved
B. believe that the great white shark evolved
C. believed that the great white shark has evolved
D. are believing that the great white shark as evolved
E. have believed that the great white shark has evolved

The sentence is talking about the current species of great white shark. The evolution from megalodon is no longer happening/just happened.

megalodon -> great white -> something else in the future

See another example from 800 score

Birds' feathers appear to have evolved from dinosaur scales well over 100 million years ago, Chinese scientists have shown, based on a fossil bird found in the Yixian mountains of northern China.

Though this choice has errors, 'appear to have' appears in all choices.
Bird's feathers appear to have evolved from dinosaur scales....
