Is that a singular or plural?
IMO B.
Reasons:

a) The first personal computers had severe hardware and software limitations similar to that of a modern wristwatch (limitations is plural so those is required instead of that)

b) The first personal computers had severe hardware and software limitations similar to a modern wristwatch's (compares limitations of pc to those of wrist watches and so is the best choice)

c) The severe hardware and software limitations of the first personal computers were similar to those of a modern wristwatch (here limitations is the subject which doesn't go with the intended meaning "so were unable to perform the complex operations". The computers were unable to perform not the limitations).

d) The first personal computers' severe hardware and software limitations were similar to those of a modern wristwatch (same as C "computers' severe hardware and software limitations" act as the subject)

e) The severe hardware and software limitations of the first personal computers were similar to that of a modern wristwatch (same as C and that of should be those of).

OA please.
