Hey all,
It is very easy to eliminate option A,B and C as apples are not compared to apples, but when I narrowed down to D and E, I couldn't find a good reason to eliminate either of them.

E) the last day that they are scheduled to collect, the automobile company's severance package is available to workers

this read literally means - they are to collecting days ...

this rules out E ....

another example

"the time that we were scheduled to meet" is incorrect. the literal reading of this is that you were scheduled to meet the time itself.
