E is awkward---"that the young people have a lessening of the .."

Incorrect tense..its mixture of Present perfect and continuous, I believe


B and D are close....

" the young people have" and " their parents and the grandparents had"

are parallel and compares the present and past in the right tense

In B, you cant see this parallel relationship

between b and D. The issue is that of faulty comparison, where work and carrier is compared with parents and grandparents.
"D" correctly tackles this issue
