A new study of the causes of autism that takes into account many factors ignored by previous studies indicate that a strong genetic component of the disease exists, but that several researchers are also examining the possibility that an environmental trigger exists.

A new study of the causes of autism that takes into account many factors ignored by previous studies indicate that a strong genetic component of the disease exists, but that several researchers are also examining the possibility that an environmental trigger exists.

that takes into account many factors ignored by previous studies indicate that a strong genetic component of the disease exists, but that (agreement error with subject "study")

that takes into account many factors ignored by previous studies, that indicates that a strong genetic component of the disease exists, but that (sentence fragment; we don't have a true verb to go with the subject)

taking into account many factors ignored by previous studies indicates that a strong genetic component of the disease exists, but (fixes the agreement error and creates an effective compound sentence)

takes into account many factors ignored by previous studies and indicate that a strong genetic component of the disease exists, but (agreement error)

taking into account many factors ignored by previous studies are indicating the existence of a strong genetic component of the disease, but that (no need for an -ing verb, and "but that" should be "but")
