The early inhabitants of the Nile Valley used primitive forked sticks and wooden hoes to sow barley, millet, and summer wheat successfully, which archaeology indicates that they did.

A)which archaeology indicates that they did
B)which they did, according to archaeology
C)as archaeological findings indicate that they did
D)as is indicated by archaeology
E)as is archaeologically found to be the case
EDIT Could someone explain the SC with proper grammatical explanations

E is really awkward construction i.e meaningless as it says "as is archaelogically found to be the case".......as is used for comparing clauses and I don't feel so in E the comparison is proper, moreover, E feels as if the case is true every where

i do understand to some extent what u mean by saying that E seems to be stating a universal truth . However i need further clarification . Nevertheless, u hit the OA

causation usage of as here.
I will not tell you, as you already know. (example)

As has been used as a preposition thereby requiring a Noun or a noun phrase.
E archaeologically is an adjective.Hence POE.

C archaeology a noun. Hence Correct usage. Thus C it is.

Hi,
E is awkward as well as passive construction.
Awkward construction is just an excuse used to remove options just the way out of scope is an excuse for removing options in CR . Passive constructions arent always unacceptable on GMAT

It is not an excuse, it is preference of the better. It is not absolute but relative. If we find a better construct than awkward, we eliminate awkward. If we find passive construct when active already conveys the same meaning in another option, we eliminate the passive one.

So in this case we are not sure whether awkwardness/passiveness is the only thing wrong with E or not .

Yup...At least we are not sure of the grammatical errors in E. May be experts can help on this.
