A. they should join... rather than continuing.... This is not parallel.

B. they should join ... rather than continue... perfect parallelism and no grammatical errors.

C. convince about joining, instead of continuing. This is awkward, and not parallel. "Instead of" is used not to compare but to replace.

D. convince for is unidiomatic.

E to prevent rather than continuing --> not parallel.

Convince X to do something and Convince X that something is true.

Both of these are correct idioms.

Examples:

1. Tecumseh struggled to convince his fellow Shawnees, as well as the other Indian tribes, that they should unite against the white settlers rather than continue their separate wars.

2. Tecumseh struggled to convince his fellow Shawnees, as well as the other Indian tribes, to unite against the white settlers.
