The answer is infact E. This question is from the Brutal SC 70 list. The moment we spot the conjunction "than" we immediately know that "than" is the parallel marker and the elements to the left and right side of "than" have to be grammatically and logically parallel. Since "that" is present in the beginning, in order to ensure parallelism we need "that" after "than".
