(a) Santa Claus is going to give four books to 2 kids; each kid will have 2 books. How many ways can Santa Claus give his gifts?

(b) Santa Claus is going to give 6 rescue packages to 3 automakers. Each automaker will receive two rescue packages, how many way can Santa Claus give his gifts?

(c) Santa Claus has three books and intends to give those three books to two kids. How many ways can Santa Cluas give his gifts ? ( No limitation on how to give his gifts, i.e all three bookds can be given to just one kid)

(d) Santa Claus has three ooks and intends to give those three books to two kids. Each kid at least will get one book. How many way can Santa Claus give his gift?

a) Distribution of 4 books between 2 kids each with 2 books is 4C2 = 6. You can verify by making cases .

b) 720 ways.

c) 2^3 = 8

d) 6.

I answered these questions by making cases. I have no formulated explaination as such.
