Why would D be correct?

I bet you just got sucked into a trap and don't actually have a clear reason why you think D might be correct.

D does SOUND as if it might be right, but is there actually any TIGHT, COMPLETE logic that makes it right?

Hi Marty Murray

My reasoning: "Our state has spent more money per mile on road improvements than any other state"

Option D states that no. of miles of road depends on the area and population of the state. It is not mentioned that other states are of equal area. So if this state has a greater area and population (supposedly) than amount spent on roads improvement will automatically becomes higher than other states and therefore attack this premise.

PERFECT. We have discovered something that you have to get better at.

To get these questions right you have to notice KEY DETAILS.

You missed THE key detail in the statement that you quoted above, the detail that makes option D irrelevant.

Now, you need to find that detail.

What is the correct answer? I know d isn't correct because the assumption may or may not be correct to weaken the conclusion. Is it e?

I guess now I am able to find what I overlooked earlier, its money spent per mile so irrespective of area, it will be more for the said state.
