Most primates are immune to feline rhinovirus, but a specific group, this being the golden macaques, are highly susceptible to the organism.

  (A) a specific group, this being the golden macaques, are highly susceptible to

  (B) a specific group, the golden macaques, is highly susceptible to

  (C) one group, specifically golden macaques, is highly susceptible of

  (D) a specific group, the golden macaques, which are highly susceptible to

C and E use "susceptible of" when the correct expression is "susceptible to".

A uses the plural verb "are" with the singular subject "group".

B works well. "..., but a specific (the golden macaques) group is highly susceptible to..."

D uses the relative pronoun "which" incorrectly and has the same agreement error as A.

  (A) a specific group, this being the golden macaques, are highly susceptible to - Plural is wrong "are"

  (B) a specific group, the golden macaques, is highly susceptible to - SV agreement btwn specific group and are....This should be the right choice

  (C) one group, specifically golden macaques, is highly susceptible of - mentioning of ONE GROUP is wrong, whr the specific nature is ruined

  (D) a specific group, the golden macaques, which are highly susceptible to - Which is wrong and make the sentence incomplete

  (E) a specific group, the golden macaques, which are highly susceptible of - which is wrong and make the sentence incomplete
