Are the Retired GMAT paper tests better to use than GMATprep or Manhattan practice test, etc? It would seem to me that the actual test would be better to use, but then again the test may have changed dramatically or the test information may now be irrelevant. Thanks

I think these retired tests are useful to a degree--it's nice in that they are actual GMAT questions, but at the same time the format is not useful to you at all. The GMAT is a computer adaptive test, and the questions/difficulty you see as you progress are based on your performance--you do not get this simulation at all with these retired tests.

My advice is to stick to the GMATPrep, OG, and the practice CATs featured in Kaplan and PR.

I have strong doubt that these "practise paper based test" have common items as in OG 10/ OG 9.

If you already have OG 10 I wouldnt have purchased these.
Also think of them as additional prep material and not as primary.

Your primary material should be OG 11 & then GMAT Prep. & then other branded (read prep company mat. such as Manhattan)

Go for additional material only you have extra time and money.

And the paper test is much easier, so don't get too excited if you see a sudden jump in accuracy! :-)

Agreed. I don't recommend studying from the paper tests for all of the reasons cited above and one additional one: the questions are so old that many of them are not comparable to what you see today on the CAT. (The paper test was last given in 1997.)
