Many of your fellow country men and women with similar experiences are also targeting top programs, and that makes it even more difficult to truly stand out or differentiate yourself. This would make your GMAT score and GPA even more important factor in your candidacy. The percentile standard that most programs use to ensure that students will survive the rigors of the coursework is typically 80% in both the verbal and quantitative section. While a 700 would be competitive at most programs, most of your peers will be scoring well above that.
