stmt 1: this is possible if greatest & smallest have same sign i.e both +ve or both -ve so if both are +ve then the product is +ve if both are -ve then the product is +ve only if there are an even nos of terms
INSUFF
stmt2 : even nos of terms can be +ve ,-ve , both so product can be +ve or -ve ISUFF
combine:
gratest & smallest have same sign & theer are an even nos of terms
hence product will always be +ve( even nos of time -ve multiplication = +ve)
SUFF

I'm not convinced Samir....
combining the statements..
gratest & smallest have same sign & there are an even nos of terms
if the numbers are:
2, 4, 6, 8 then SUFF
and if the numbers are:
2, 4, -6, 8 then INSUFF... isnt it...

its is given the product of the smallest and greatest integer is positive. In ur eg. smallest number is -6 and largest is 8. So the product is not positive. You have taken a wrong set of numbers.
Samir is correct in his explaination.
