The total charge to rent a car for one day from Company J consists of a fixed charge of $15.00 plus a charge of $0.20 per mile driven. The total charge to rent a car for one day from Company K consists of a fixed charge of $20.00 plus a charge of $0.10 per mile driven. K => 20+.1X

a.) Total charge to rent from K is less than 25....but it has a fixed cost of 20..so .1X = 5 =>max miles 50...but this can be as low as 1...hence u get range of x = 1 to 50...

so J..will always be 15+(.2 or 10max) , 25..yes

2.) straight approach: max it can be is 25....YES
