The current GMAT is essentially the same Test it's been for the last 3 years, so the books that you're working with are still relevant (and purchasing a slightly newer version of any of them isn't necessary).

From your post, it sounds like you're just beginning your studies.

1) Have you taken any CATs yet (and if so, then how did you score)?
2) What is your goal score?

It sounds like you're just starting out. Is that true? Have you done any studying so far?

If you're just beginning, then it would be a good idea to take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test; you can download 2 for free from www.mba.com (and they come with some additional practice materials). If you want to do a bit of studying beforehand, so that you can familiarize yourself with the general content and questions types, then that's fine, but you shouldn't wait too long before taking that first CAT. A FULL CAT takes about 4 hours to complete, so make sure that you've set aside enough time to take it in one sitting. Once you have those scores, you should report back here and we can come up with a study plan.

Since you're not planning to apply to Business School until later in 2016, there's a bit less pressure on you as you study for the GMAT (which is good). While it won't be a concern for some time, when the time comes, you'll want to be far more specific with your application plans (Schools, application deadlines, etc.).

Given this CAT score, and your overall score goal, you're in a terrific position to succeed. As such, you can probably study as you see fit for now. With a mid-December Test Date, you have about 7 weeks of study time remaining, so it's important to make each of your future CATs as realistic and test-like as possible (so you should take the FULL CAT - including the Essay and IR sections, away from your home, at the same time of day as your Official GMAT, etc.).
