Less than 35 years after the release of African honeybees outside Sao Paulo, Brazil, their descendants, popularly known as killer bees, had migrated as far north as southern Texas.

Is it A ?

Since we are not talking about a particular 35 year period, C and E would be ruled out because of the 'the'.

In D, 'It took' should be somewhere followed by an infinitive, which is missing.

'In less than 35 years since releasing' in B is awkward.
