Hii.. I would like your opinion on the designation of recommender.
I'm planning to get recommendation from my lead whose designation as listed in the business card is same as mine. But he is a level above me, a team lead and acting project manager.
My company is small and most of us here are Systems Engineer on the business card. However, we are at different levels. Depending on the level, a systems engineer can take any role from analyst to project manager. We follow a matrix system in which one person can take different roles in different projects.
So, this system makes it difficult. The schools (Nanyang and NUS) I'm applying to state that I should request recommendation from supervisors or someone superior to me. The school also asks the recommender to attach their business card.
What would happen if the b-schools view the recommender and myself at the same level?
How can I explain to the school that although we have same designation on the business card, we are at different levels and the recommender is superior to me?
