Recommendation Letter?

So, I just learned that in my company, nobody is allowed to write a letter of recommendation for an individual for legal reasons. This is one of the largest companies in the world and I am sure there must be many people out there who have experienced the same? Apparently, in my company you can write about the individual's personality but nothing about his/her work performance.
I am super angry and super frustrated after hearing this. Somebody help?

This is something you will certainly want to address in the optional essay, as it is fairly uncommon and admissions directors will want to know why you don't have a recommendation letter from your current employer.

How long have you worked at this firm? Any other work experience elsewhere?

Hi Nakul,
I hope you have worked at some other company before from where you can get a recommendation letter.
I concur with Apple Point- you should definitively explain this in your optional essay to let the Ad Com know why you have not provided recommendation letter from your immediate supervisor.

No, unfortunately I have not worked for any other company. This is the world's largest construction company and I had no idea that they did not offer letters of recommendation.
Is this a total surprise? There must be a few people who have experienced this?

Since this is a company's policy ,and not at all your fault, you should stop fretting over it. May be, you can get from your company what they are willing to provide you - feedback on your personality, and then explain in your optional essay that they DO NOT provide their feedback on the employees' work. Now focus on putting together a strong application for your target schools.
