Thanks for your post. I am so sorry to hear about your recommendations. It sounds like you've had a very frustrating experience! Honestly, I don't think canceling the application and starting a new one will help - your social security number and other identifying information is the same thus you aren't really creating a "new identity." My best advice is to let the one that you edited go and hope for the best. However, I would recommend calling the school admissions office directly about the other recommendation for the wrong school. I am sure thing type of thing happens quite often and it clearly isn't your fault. Bschools know you apply to more than one school and won't therefore judge you by this mistake. It's best to clear the air on the issue and continue on with your application.
