Hi,
After going through this forum, which is quite amazing, I still have some doubts unanswered.
Following are the details which will help you to answer my questions:

1) GMAT attempt date: Around Mid-March, 2010
2) Target: 720+
3) Excellent at Maths, though I need some brush up
4) Good at English, again I will need some brush up

What I want to ask:

1) Suggest some books for Beginners Verbal and Maths section
2) Practice questions for the same
3) Other suggested readings (Other than OG 12th edition)
4) Suggestions related to planning my studies.

Help appreciated

I've been studying for a couple of weeks now, and I started with the books recommended by Winning Prep. They've also got a lot of free test sections I've been using to gauge my progress and sell some books of their own that are next on my list.

As far as a study plan goes, I guess I'd recommend taking a diagnostic test to see where you're scoring highest & where you need the most work. What I've been doing is focusing on one area at a time - starting with my worst sections - until I feel strong. And trying to put in a steady 1.5-2 hours a night so I don't get overwhelmed.

I haven't taken the gmat so take this advice fwiw. I wasted about 3 months studying because I had the wrong materials. I think you should start with Kaplan premier, and after you go through that book just to get a feel for the test. Buy all of the Math guides from Manhattan GMAT. Buy Manhattan Gmat sentence correction and buy powerscore's critical reasoning bible. If you go through all of that you will be good.

Thank you for your suggestions.

Here is my plan:

1) Buy Princeton review and get brushed up with all my basic Math concepts till 7th January.
2) Give my 1st free GMAT test from Princeton review 8th January.
3) Complete analysis of score and further plan of action.
4) Buy OG 12th edition and Manhattan Verbal Guide ( the whole verbal section guide) 10 January
5) Complete Manhattan Verbal Guide 15 days.
6) 2 day revision of Maths and Verbal section.
7) Give my 2nd GMAT test from Manhattan. Complete analysis and feedback to be followed.
8) Start with OG and complete within next 15 days!
9) Start with Free and Paid GMAT tests and GMATPrep from mba.com
10) Throughout analysis and continuous improvement through analysis
11) Working with extra practice problems if necessary

I assume that I can study 3 hours in one day, one go! No vacations or holidays included (even new year and Sundays'!)

just out of curiousity, if you take your test mid march of 2010, when are you planning to apply to business school? I know the admission is summer, fall, and spring. Does this mean you can apply whenever and the wait isn't too long?
