Re-take, w/ worst case scenario

by TCGaucho » Tue Aug 26, 2008 3:15 pm
I am now preparing to take the GMAT for the 4th time. My previous scores, in order, were 500 - 640 - 600. Not exactly the progress I wanted to see. Anyways, my question is if I score below my current max of 640, how bad will this look to mba admissions people? I would take the GMAT for a 5th time, but have heard, in these forums, that a 5th GMAT is generally looked down upon. Thoughts on this worst case scenario?

i believe the answer will depend on which school you apply to. i hear the top 10 to top 20 ranked schools frown upon 3+ attempts, and the top 10 frown upon 2+ attempts.

Hi TCGaucho

Guess I'm sailing in the same boat...
My scores are
510, 640, 640...Guess i wasted an attempt... But m kinda against the thought of taking the GMAT again for the 4th time... As i've heard that it strikes a bad impression on the college admin & also 1 more reason is that I've lost all the confidence after my 3rd attempt
