Re-Take Strategy

I scored a 670 (40Q, 41V) last Saturday. I am thinking of re-taking to improve my low quant score. I had a few questions:

-Do schools want you to take the essay portion every time you take the exam if you have already done well?
-Since I am doing well on verbal (generally 90% during practices as well), should I concentrate only on quant?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

>> No you would need to take it each time. The trick is to spend as little energy as possible getting into the quant section. Any score above 4 shouldn't matter so don't spend too much time/energy.

>> Yes and no. Yes because that is your main problem area. No because you should not drop your ball in verbal. Its pretty easy to slip from a 41 to say, a 38. Guess what a Q44 and V38 will give you - 670! So be careful.
