I am a reapplicant myself, but an international one. Hence never had the chance to visit. But I still think visiting once is enough. The whole idea of visiting is to get to know the schools better and hence you don't need to. This is my understanding.

For schools that require new application, I think the answer depends on a few other things. Some schools have specific reapplicant queries. Other schools, I really think it is best for us to contact the schools (the ones whose policies are not clear) and ask them what they would like us to do. What say?

Thank you for the response. I figured visiting once was enough but wanted to see what other re-applicants had planned. Current students and alumni have been great resources for getting a "feel" for a campus.

I think 3 of my 4 schools require a whole new application, so I will be starting from scratch again. Sucks because I really liked my essays. lol. And I will most definitely share whatever information I can find for other re-applicants.

It looks like the schools have made minor changes to their questions. I'll end up re-writing my essays anyway. lol.

Whereas you are not on the hook for revisiting schools, I think it behooves you to take concrete steps to learn more and show interest in these schools such that you can reference these actions in the essays and interviews. It's not about requirements, it's about a school feeling you view them as special and worth extra-careful exploration. I can't tell you how many candidates blow it by giving very generic examples of the steps they have taken.

In terms of the essays, yes, most schools will specify. But as you are a year older and wiser, new essays are best and you need to showcase how you have grown, taken on more, increased your responsibilities, intensified your focus on your career objectives....

The old stuff didn't get you in, so yes, new essays!
