Bag A contains red, white and blue marbles such that the red to white marble ratio is 1:3 and the white to blue marble ratio is 2:3. Bag B contains red and white marbles in the ratio of 1:4. Together, the two bags contain 30 white marbles. How many red marbles could be in bag A?

bag A
ratio of R:W:B=2:6:3
Bag B ratio of R:W=1:4

total white is 6x+4y=30
only two case is possible x=1 and y=4 or x=3 and y=3

in case 1 no. of red ball is 2 in bag A
in case 2 no. of red ball is 6 in bag A

i hope 2 is not given as a choice.

Box A
R: W is 1: 3 OR 2:6
W: B is 2:3 OR 6:9

R: W: B is 2:6:9 OR 6:18:27

Box B
R: W is 1:4 OR 3:12

Total number of white marbles in A and B is 30.
Means, the number of red marbles in A should be 6
