According to the directions on a can of frozen orange juice concentrate, 1 can of concentrate is to be mixed with 3 cans of water to make orange juice. How many 12 ounce cans of the can concentrate are required to prepare 200, 6-ounce servings of orange juice?

the answer is 25

The ratio of concentrate to water is 1:3. In 200 * 6 ounce orange juice

% Concentrate = 1 / 4 * 200 * 6 ounce = 50 * 6 ounce = 25 * 12 ounce

Hence 25

The ratio of Concentrate to Water in Juice is 1:3
In 200, 6-ounce servings :
Water ---- 1200*3/4 = 900
Concentrate ---- 1200*1/4 = 300
Thus total number of 12 ounce cans needed ---- 300/12 = 25
