Hi, in one of the manhattan books, there's the following paragraph : "A multiple of an integer is formed by multiplying that integer by any integer. On the GMAT, multiples of an integer are equal to or larger than that integer".

So that means that 0 is not a multiple of any positive integer (because 0 is less than any positive integer) but 0 IS a multiple of any non-positive integer (because 0 is "equal to or larger than" any non-positive integer). Am I getting this right ? Is 0 a multiple of -5 for example ?

Hi jbyx78,

0 is a multiple of EVERY integer. While that issue doesn't impact too many questions on the GMAT, it is a math fact, so you have to be aware of it.

Yes, 0 is a multiple of every number.

Here's a way of remembering the idea here:

A multiple of k = k * (any integer)

0 = k * 0

so 0 is a multiple of every integer k.
